We also use tools such as the Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager to evaluate and optimize the reach and impact of our social media activities.
1. Responsible body and joint responsibility
When you visit our social media channels or interact with us via this platform, personal data is processed both by us and by the respective platform operators. In these cases, joint controllership applies pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR.
While H24 Hotels is responsible for the content and interactions on its own channel, technical data processing (e.g., tracking, usage analysis) is largely the responsibility of the platform operators.

2. Purposes and scope of data processing
Your personal data in connection with our social media presence is processed for the following purposes:
- Providing information about our company, our services, and offers
- Interaction with users (e.g., through comments, likes, direct messages)
- Reach analysis, monitoring the success of our content, and campaign optimization
- Targeted advertising (e.g., via Meta Business Suite)
The following data categories may be processed, among others:
- Profile name, profile picture, reactions, public comments, and other content that users post on our channels
- Communication content sent to us via direct messages or comments
- Statistical and technical data on page usage (e.g., reach, interactions, demographic characteristics – depending on the platform)
- Content tagged with certain hashtags or tags and thus made publicly visible (e.g., in competitions or story reshares)
When participating in competitions or marketing campaigns, the respective terms and conditions of participation apply in addition, which will be announced separately.
If you share content with H24 Hotels – e.g., through mentions, tags, or hashtags such as @h24hotels – we assume that you consent to publication or sharing within the context.
3. Image and video recordings on social media
The content on our social media channels is produced by us. It generally consists of depictions of our locations, services, and scenes with our own employees or hired models who have given us their express consent for publication.
In individual cases, video or photo recordings may also include people in the background who are neither employees nor models. These recordings are generally made in compliance with applicable data protection and privacy law regulations. Persons who appear merely as accessories to a scene or who are not clearly identifiable are considered legally permissible to be recorded in accordance with Section 23 of the German Copyright Act (KunstUrhG).
If you recognize yourself in a recording and do not agree to its publication, please contact us at:
We will review your request promptly and remove the affected material if your objection is justified.
You also have the right to object to the processing of your image data at any time for reasons related to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR), unless this is based on your express consent.
In individual cases, technical reasons may lead to a delay in removal from third-party platforms.
For publicly announced events or marketing campaigns in our hotels, photographs or videos may be taken, which we may also publish on social media. In such cases, we will provide visible notice on site. If you do not wish to be recorded, please inform our staff directly or contact us afterward.
Legal basis:
The publication of images and videos is generally based on our legitimate interest in an appealing presentation of our company and the external presentation of our events, in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. In cases where consent is required (e.g., for clearly identifiable individuals), processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time with future effect.
4. Legal basis
The processing of your personal data on our social media channels is based – depending on the context – on the following legal bases of the GDPR:
Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR – legitimate interest:
We have a legitimate interest in the external presentation of our company, the promotion of our services, and interaction with interested parties via common communication channels. This includes, for example, operating our profiles, responding to comments or messages, and evaluating aggregated usage statistics. Our interest prevails because we do not process sensitive data and users themselves participate in the communication with public interactions.
Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR – consent:
In certain cases, we only process personal data with your express consent – e.g., when participating in competitions, sharing story content, photo tags, or comments containing personal information.
This consent applies to the respective campaign and can be revoked at any time with future effect. The revocation does not affect the legality of the processing carried out up to that point.
Please note: If you share content with us via your own public profiles or link to us in posts (e.g., by mentioning @h24hotels or using an event hashtag), we assume that you expressly request visibility and interaction.
5. Data transfer to platform providers / third countries
Please note that when you visit our social media presence, personal data is processed not only by us but also by the respective platform operators. This is done under the respective provider’s own data protection responsibility – regardless of whether you have your own user account or are logged in.
Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and TikTok, in particular, also process data outside the European Union – e.g., in the USA. To ensure the protection of your data, these providers rely on so-called standard contractual clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR or are (where applicable) certified according to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
H24 Hotels has only limited influence on data processing by the platforms. Further information on data processing by the respective providers can be found in their privacy policies:
• Meta (Facebook/Instagram): https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
• TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea
• LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
Note: Even if you do not have your own user account on a platform or are not logged in, personal data may be processed by the platform providers when you visit our social media presence – for example, by recording your IP address, device information, or by setting cookies. This processing is the sole responsibility of the respective providers.
Further information on the transfer of personal data to third countries (especially the USA) can also be found in our general privacy policy on https://h24hotels.com/en/privacy-policy/ in the section “Data transfer to third countries / USA.”
6. Tracking and analysis tools
To analyze and optimize our social media activities, we use additional web tools that are integrated into our website:
- Meta Business Suite (including Meta Pixel): for targeted communication with our target groups and for measuring the success of campaigns on Facebook and Instagram.
Please note that when using the Meta Business Suite, internal data processing may also take place within the Meta group of companies (e.g., between Facebook and Instagram). This is carried out by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. under its own responsibility under data protection law. The relevant information can be found in Meta’s privacy policy.
- Google Tag Manager: for the technical management and control of tracking scripts and analysis tools.
- Google Analytics: for the statistical analysis of user behavior, particularly the origin of page views via social networks.
These tools are used exclusively on the basis of your prior consent via our cookie consent banner (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 of the German Telemedia Act (TTDSG). The information obtained in this way will not be linked to personal social media data (e.g., your Facebook profile).
Please note that, particularly when using Google services, personal data may also be transmitted to servers in third countries such as the USA.
You can revoke or change your consent at any time via our cookie settings.
7. Your rights
As a data subject, you have the right:
- Right to information (Article 15 GDPR),
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR),
- Right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR),
- Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR),
- Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR),
- Right to objection (Article 21 GDPR),
- Right to revocation of consent granted (Article 7 (3) GDPR).
Contact for inquiries at H24 Hotels:
Note: If data is processed by social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Meta, or LinkedIn), please contact the respective platform operators directly. You can find their contact details and privacy policies above in Section 1. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that your data has been processed unlawfully.
